My last year of Uni is nearly over and I’m having to start to look for a job already. But how can you make the decision of what you want to do for the rest of your life? My housemate is also struggling, she has an interview for a PGCE tomorrow, but she’s still unsure whether this is what she wants to do.
It’s hard enough thinking what A levels you want to do at school, let alone a job. But with the current job market looking dismal I have set my sights abroad. I have found a few work placements in Australia, which sound perfect.. although they are unpaid. But moving to Australia means that I will leave my family behind and leave my boyfriend. He’s a welder and has just asked his boss whether he could go to night school for some formal training. This training is a year, does this mean I am stuck to Northampton? or if I decide to venture would this mean leaving him too.
But how I think about this difficult decision is that, if we are meant to be then we will be! It’s a sacrifice now for a good future together. So I’m off to visit the C.V man today to look over my C.V, and I will apply to everything whether it’s in the UK or overseas and I know my boyfriend will be there to support me.. Aren’t I one lucky girly!
So my advice to anyone is the same boat as me! Get your C.V sorted and start applying to the jobs of your dream, if your relationship is real then there is nothing to worry about. Concentrate on yourself, your hopes and dreams, and your partner will follow nicely behind.
Don’t be scared about having the talk about your future with your partner, your not jinx-ing it! You are simply trying to plan your life, especially if your in the same position as me and met your partner at Uni and your not from the same City. I’m an optimist and I say… Everything will be alright in the end, if it’s not alright then it’s not the end!
