Things you can only relate to if you work in an office.

In light of my current resignation from my office job and beginning a new adventure. I have written my own list of things that only people that work in an office environment can relate to.

Things you can only relate to if you work in an office.

  1. These people feel like your family, I mean you see them everyday and there are rarely any new faces floating about.
  1. You become a badass at typing, because this is literally what you spend your entire life doing.
  1. Those computer headaches are a total nightmare- you even have a secret stash of paracetamol on hand.
  1. People don’t believe you when you say that you are knackered after a days work. They think all you do it sit at a desk, there is a lot more to it then just that.
  1. You start to notice weight gain.
  1. You start to notice those cakes in the office that someone bought in.
  1. You start to notice weight gain.. again.
  1. You become a tea and coffee making expert. Plus you know everybody’s orders.
  1. You need your daily caffeine fix otherwise you’re a monster.
  1. You hoard the stationary cupboard and get excited over sticky notes.
  1. Talking of sticky notes, your desk is covered because you constantly need to note everything down.
  1. You chair moulds around your bum, because you’re rarely out of your seat.
  1. When something needs to be done you will instantly volunteer, just so you can move from your seat.
  1. You spend lunch breaks sat at your desk, I mean it’s not like you have been positioned there all day.
  1. You’re key fob is your life. Lose that, and then your life is ruined.
  1. You get excited when it’s someone’s birthday or if someone is leaving. Because you know there will be snacks.
  1. Raining outside? You don’t care. Because you’re in an office sheltered where it’s nice and warm.
  1. Sunny outside? You hate it, your stuck in a sweltering office with no air con.
  1. You start to make your workstation like home with photos, calendars and personalised pens.
  1. The work place starts to feel like your home away from home. Sometimes you feel like you spend more time at the office than your actual home.
